Last week two special rudder propellers (type VL-1250) left Papendrecht; they are intended for a Service Operation Vessel (SOV) of the DEME Group. It concerns DEME's first SOV with a SWATH (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) design that limits the impact of waves on movements when approaching wind turbines. Destination is CEMRE SHIPYARD in Yalova, Turkey, where the vessel will be completed. The thrusters of Veth Propulsion by Twin Disc, Inc. are specially designed and are 10 meters long and weigh 18 tons per thruster. At the end of 2019, four tunnel bow thrusters (type VT-700) were delivered to Turkey.
