The new ferry between Kessel and Beesel (The Netherlands) is in service. The old ferry had been in use since 1931 and is now outdated.
For the construction of the ship a tender has been put out. The contract was awarded to Shipcon Dodewaard, based on price and technical expertise. Veth Propulsion was for Propulsion an important part in winning this tender.
Veth Propulsion delivered 2 Z-Drive rudderpropellers, Type VZ -160 –CR. The advantage of these counter-rotating propellers is that they are suitable for minimum immersion depth due to smaller propeller diameter. This reduces the chance of damage significantly.
Veth Propulsion thanks the municipality Horst aan de Maas, Shipcon Dodewaard and finishing supervisor Harrie Brekelmans for the pleasant coorperation!
The naming ceremony took place on January 22, 2015.
