The latest addition of De Boer Remourquage SARL and Iskes Towage and Salvage, called Fregate, has been put into operation. The ship is used for their project in Grand Port Martime de Guyana. The WID 2915 Hybrid received last May 9th had its trial run in the port of Rotterdam, where all functionalities have been successfully tested.
Damen Shipyards has developed and built the multifunctional tug which can also be used as a Water Injection Dredger. The Damen Multi Cat was the starting point for the development of this tug. The propulsion and maneuverability of this ship made it ideal for, among other things, the sustainable removal of sludge from harbors and waterways. In addition, the tug is also suitable for pushing buckets and can be used for firefighting.
Fregate is aligned with two hybrid Veth Z drives. These are fuel efficient and produce less noise. These rudder propellers have a diesel-electric drive. This system continuously adapts to the ship's sailing profile, provides better engine load in relation to fuel consumption, lower fuel consumption over total speed range and has lower maintenance costs.
